Is anyone else dealing with food allergies? DS is 8 months and has just had skin prick tests after a bad reaction to hummus. He has been diagnosed with allergies to peanuts, sesame, milk, eggs and weirdly, garlic!

The nut and sesame one are quite severe and we have been given epipens whereas the others bring him out in hives but hopefully that's all.

It's difficult to know how to cook for him and I don't want him to miss out as he grows up. Any experiences or recipes appreciated!

Hey, we are! My LO is 8 months too. We've not managed to get any testing yet, & waiting to see a dietician (appointment in FEBRUARY!) so we're still figuring things out too.
We've had definite reactions to milk, wheat and hummus (so I'm assuming sesame like you) and been told to avoid soya, egg, nuts and fish too for now. We're struggling too with ideas, but I think we're doing ok!
We're trying to do mostly BLW, so tonight Flynn had his first homemade mild chicken curry! I just bunged chicken, ttnned tomatoes, onion, veg, curry powder & mango chutney in the slow cooker & dished it up with rice. The chicken was lovely & tender done like this so easy for him to eat.
What milk are you using? So far I've been expressing for porridge fingers etc, but planning on trying Koko milk soon as he's had coconut milk yoghurt & been fine.
I find lunch really hard as I've not found any bread he can have yet, so we're doing lots of rice cakes with Pure olive oil spread, bananas, ham & other fruit.

DS has been fine with fish and soya and now if I am trying something new I rub it on the inside of his wrist first because he comes up in hives from skin contact with it.

We have been using Oat milk as I has been told to avoid coconut but now the allergy consultant said it should be OK, just test it first. Anyway, the oat milk has been good as you can just use it normally in cooking too.

It must be hard to have to avoid wheat too, we have been lucky on that one. Sweet potato wedges are good for lunch or chicken & potato or chickpea patties as you can freeze them and then just throw a few in the oven.

My sons got allergies , not to all the same foods as yours but he has had thm since about 18 moths . I've found as a general rule , the more you make from scratch or just whole foods like fruits veggies meats it's better

For bread if you can get a bread maker their is lots of gluten free recipes that have substitutions in the recipes . At one point couldn't have eggs wheat mills soy or nuts and still managed to make decent bread
