Hi all ;)

We go on holiday to Florida 3 weeks today I have no clue what to do about Jacobs food?!?! He has in the last week or 2 started on solids. Just tasters fruit, veg and a bit of porridge. Anyone know if I can take anything in the plane?? Any US mums recommend a good baby food weaning stage brand to buy over there? We are going to disney world and staying in a disney hotel so won't really be able to cook/purée any of my own stuff xx

Man, I'd have waited to wean till I got back. Can you pack some pouches? The general stores at the hotels seem to sell everything but not a lot of choice and expensive. Are you hiring a car? We went to Walmart and stocked up on a few things when we got there and stored in our room. We stayed at POR - I'm so bloody jealous!

At 6 months you wouldt need to worry about puree, just give him bits you are eating.

Walmart is a good idea if you have a way to get to one. You can buy anything there. :)

Hasn't that come round fast! I remember you mentioning the trip to Florida whilst pregnant.

As others have said, if just give him bits of what you're having and let him get everything he needs from milk.

Enjoy your holiday! X

The meals are HUGE! You wouldn't notice sharing though its quite salty

We usually avoid Walmart, so if you want another store with healthier options I would try Whole Foods or Target, maybe Publix. There's Ella's Kitchen, Gerber, Plum Organics, happyTot brands (at least where I am). I think maybe they have baby food available in the parks, but I doubt it's much and probably expensive.

My LO refused purees though so I can't say much about those.

Noo! It was Publix we went to!

Exactly this :) but if you want purée too then just grab some pouches. Ella's kitchen are great and I'd imagine they'll be available in the US.

Boots (the shop) do a good service where you can preorder baby food 10-14 days before you fly and you can collect it at the airport on the day of your flight and pop it in your hand luggage. That might be useful, I Haven't used this service just read about it yesterday, thought it was a really good idea :)
