For me - it's couscous. I should explain that DD loves it, I love it, DH loves it...but whenever my gorgeous gal eats the stuff, the house ends up covered in what can only be described as couscous confetti. Don't know how she manages it! Even the cat has been wearing the stuff (unwittingly, which is always funny in a cat)

I'll always give it to DD, as her 'mmmms' and enjoyment are all that's important, but I have to admit, my heart sinks at the clear up job :D

Do your LOs have a similar food?

When she wants to eat her Ready Brek with her hands :dohh: She is loving her spoons at the moment, which is great. But every now and then... the hands go in. And then get waved about. And then get rubbed through her hair... :dohh:

Oh, and raisins. She sooks them thoroughly for a while, pockets them in her hamster cheeks, then spits them out later. I keep thinking I have some kind of stealth rabbit in the house, leaving droppings everywhere. Turns out it's raisins!

Ummm rice, it goes everywhere :dohh:

Or anything orange, spaghetti, beans etc = big orange mess

Dylan manages to get anything I feed him on his hands, even if I keep it away from him. Then he scrunches it all through his hair, and he has a lot of it! It was scrambled egg today, yesterday pasta sauce and cake. He managed to get cake all over the floor, then kept finding bits and eating them after he'd finished:dohh:

I think I need to put him in a straightjacket for feeding.

Rice for us too. It just gets everywhere, although at least 80% of it went in the mouth the other day, so she's getting better!

I love the look of real joy on DDs face as she tackles her messy food - she similarly enjoys the 'running hands through hair' manoevre...preferably when covered in sweet potato mash!

Yogurt, he's crazy for it but covers his face in it and splatters it around the kitchen. He hates, hates, hates having his face wiped!

I've only offered couscous once thus far (it didn't work out, he got frustrated when it fell through his fingers like sand) but I was still finding bits of it around the room a week later. :dohh:

Adam likes Weetabix - and I think he really likes when he's eaten all he wants and then smears the rest all round the back of the highchair and under the edge of the table. If you don't catch it right away it goes like concrete and you practically need a scourer to get it off.

Eggs. I spoon feed him, but he always rubs his face & his hair while eating it & he always need a bath after finishing.

Prunes.

They are so sticky and even when I mix it in his cereal and spoon feed him he still gets it everywhere and it is so hard to wipe of his hands and face.

I am also with the anything orange/red- so messy and hard to clean up!

I have to take her trousers off before giving her anything tomato based. She has a habit of putting her hands in it & then on her knees!

Stewed plums. Rowan adores them, but WON'T eat them with a spoon: the dish gets tipped up, the plums poured out on to the high chair tray, and she eats them bit by bit with her fingers!

I learned this the hard way. I am now trying to get tomato stains out of a gorgeous pair of pink combats :dohh:

The best remedy for tomato stains that I have found, which does not affect the colour of the clothing (unless you leave it too long), is Milton sterilising solution.

broccoli!!! the wee bits get EVERYWER!!!

Lentils. I was picking them out of everywhere for a week!
