so why is it that we are having such a hard time ttc because of dh lsc, but when a man pulls out or a condom breaks, a woman can still get preggers? not all of it would be deposited, expecially if it is just "pre-cum". they say u can even get preggers doing anal just by a few drops by the vagina. but my hubbs 14 mill cant do the job wtf!

Totally agree there are so many warning out there when your not ttc I honestly thought you could get pregnant during most of your cycle. What a load of BS that turned out to be. What about the warning on a pill packet saying it's unlikely you'll get pregnant during your af week but not impossible????????
If only I say.

I know! this is crazy, in sex ed. they had us so scared about sex and how easy it was to get pregnant, and look at us :( Oh and on the radio this morning they were talking about a 19 yr old boy that has fathered 14 kids! And he cant take care of them and his mom doesnt know what to do. But my hubby, a GOOD man, that would raise a child right and instill morals and everything might not get to be a father. ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr im so mad

We're going through the same thing. My hubby's count is a lot lower than yours though and everything is abnormal. The unfairness of it is the hardest thing to deal with. We know people who have had several children by accident and that were unwanted, yet here we are ready to be the best parents we can be and in a stable financial position and we can't. It sucks really. Hugs to you x

The sperm issue can be a couple things. One- a woman's vaginal pH balance might be off. I have never been personally tested myself, but to be sure I use Pre-Seed.

Also, my aunt-in-law (almost 40 years old) has been trying as long as I have been and she just went through IVF (failed). She was just telling me that when her DH gave the sperm deposit for the procedure, the doctor told them his sperm all died within an hour after deposit. They told her that is very abnormal and could have been due to the stress he had endured a few days prior (helping his parents with their house and such). So, stress CAN affect mens fertility too! :(

That is why my approach for a while starting now will be straight up HAVE FUN!! No more worrying about "is it all in there" or "am I in the right position" stuff. lol

I read stress can affect it too, but it's so hard to get your husband to manage his stress. Really, I think I stress out more than he does.

Wintersong- Do they test your CM pH level at the FS/gyno? I don't have an issue with producing CM, but having that test done could be helpful.

Stress is defo a big factor! I am stressed out all the time and wish it would just stop. It has alot to do with my mom and her side of the family more than anything, so this vacation I am on right now is helpful!

I would assume both (probably the FS though) would do the test upon asking for it? But, I haven't had it done so I don't actually know sorry :nope:. I have no problem producing CM either :haha:. Unless the mood is ruined, then the flood gates close SHUT! lol.

I am thinking about getting the DH sperm retested in the coming months though. They say you should do at least 3 semen analysis to make a comparison in consistency. We have only done the SA test once.

The reason why it can happen easily for some with a broken condom or pull out method is one the male partner may have had a high count and with a high count even one milliliter can get someone pregnant.motility could have been high also the health of the sperm matters. so its not just about the sperm count.

This usually happens because the reason for sex was for fun, and not trying to get pregnant lol. So, the stress of thinking about it isn't there AT ALL :) All the more reason I am trying this approach, just minus the condoms and pull out method :)

I have to disagree about the stress. Two of my DH's SAs (and he's had a lot) were better despite the fact that he was very stressed at the time. Male factor is generally caused by either a genetic or structural problems. Stress can play a small part and I stress the word small. The other things that affect count are smoking and alcohol. If a man has a very low count, no amount of destressing will bring that count to normal levels.

@ wintersong4....my dh's first SA report had good count...56 million
and after 6 months,,the second report had only 8 million... i was like
urologist said there had to be some surgery done, we panicked and tried to improve diet...after 2 months, 3rd report had 14 million :growlmad:..still low.

then we changed the urologist...he said its because of stress and also dh had mild infection, but mainly STRESS caused such changes... he gave dh medicine for infection and also vitamin and zinc supplementss for 3 monthss...we tried to manage stess a bit too by being positive...and now 4th SA report said
62 million:thumbup:...but still have motility issues (only 20 % active)...gotta see doc yet... so bee hopefull and dont give up soooon... we will all surely get our BFP really sooooon... :winkwink:

I disagree with stress keeping people from conceiving because when we conceived last year it was a very stressful time, the actual day I believe we conceived we had been fighting and DH almost left me , we made up 2 hours later and of course BD and I was shocked 2 weeks later when I got a BFP.

Shiara- That is good news!! I hope a BFP is in your future very soon!

I think the whole "stress" factor is being taken the wrong way of what I meant. Obviously, stress doesn't have the same affects for EVERYONE. But, most people will be negatively affected by it. Especially if blood pressure is an issue, even the slightest. Mainly so, if one is "trying" to get pregnant and its "on the brain" this relates to pressure, which relates to stress. There are women like lisap who can conceive even if stress is involved. That is wonderful! Honestly, I think your bfp was because you 2 were NOT stressed at the moment of conception. You 2 made up, and were happy the moment sex occurred :)

Bottom line, any one will tell you that stress greatly affects our general health negatively. We age faster, have higher blood pressure, heart attacks, etc. But, there are a small percentage of people who don't get affected by stress as much as others.

totally agree with u wintersong.... also my husband is diabetic (borderline), thats why stress is a big issue for him...

I think what really attributes to my husband's not so hot SA is the smoking he did for years on end. He gave up smoking for chewing tobacco. Then we got those results he stopped chewing tobacco all together.

No one else in his family has problems with TTC. So I doubt it would be genetic or structural.

We're currently waiting on a referral for him to see the urologist and get another SA done to see if he's improved since Feb.

Eek! Yea smoking is not soo good on our bodies :(. I hope his SA comes back super good!!! :hugs::hugs:

I agree I do think its different for different people ,it was different for us because we had stopped TTC , we were not even thinking it could happen for us naturally. so we were no longer stressed about TTC .:dohh:

I so agree! I know so many stories that go along the lines of the couple only BD'ed once in a cycle, on something like CD5, he pulled out but still something ended up around her vagina - and Bob's your Uncle!! She's PG! AND - that couple was also told DH's sperm wasn't 100% great!

Yet all our problem is is low morphology (still within the norm), we BD during ovulation, use pre-seed, I do legs up and other acrobatics - and still nothing!

I totally agree about cervical mucus and PH balance and infections. These may be what's called "hidden" infections so a regular swab won't even pick them up. But what they do is kill all the sperm before the even manage to get as far as the cervix :nope: Still, you'd hope ONE would make it
