I have a few questions before I see my consultant next week.

I had my son by emcs in February this year due to fatal distress and not getting pass 2cm in my induction. was induced at 36+4 with him due to iugr.

Did you have to have another section?
what sort of things will the consultant go over with me?
Will they push for vbac?
If you went for vbac did you end up needing another section anyway?

I've looked up the pros and cons of a vbac just haven't looked up the pros and cons of having another section.

Can someone please answer my questions.
I've had 98 views and not one person has actually helped me. please

You only posted this at 11pm on Thursday night, lots of people are busy at the weekends and you don't always get a quick response. Snippy remarks will not make people answer your questions any faster!

Anyway..
I had my sections 1 year and 5 days apart. I opted for a section due to the fact my son had a chance of having a goitre in his neck like his sister hence making vaginal delivery very difficult.

Did you have to have another section? - No, i could've opted for a VBAC, my consultant said she would give me a 60% chance of a successful VBAC but it would be in a very controlled environment. (this obviously didn't factor in any goitre)
what sort of things will the consultant go over with me? Not much TBH, I had decided on the csection already (cos of the goitre possibilities) and i think as i went in there with my mind made up then she knew there was no point trying to talk me out of it.
Will they push for vbac? They can certainly give you all the relevant info, but ultimately its YOUR choice, especially as you had fetal distress in your previous pregnancy
If you went for vbac did you end up needing another section anyway? n/a

However, the recovery was easier and more difficult... easier in that i knew what to expect, knew my limits, knew what felt right and wrong in regards to healing. But it was more difficult as i had a 1 year old at home and you can't be lifting a toddler constantly.. my OH had 2 weeks off, then my mum stayed Mon-Fri for 2 weeks.

My son ended up coming 2 weeks early, i was contracting randomly and was again asked if i wanted to try for VBAC (not in a pressured way) and i was basically given some morphine and had to wait until a spot in theatre became available.

Do what feels right to you, my only advice is that if you want a section, be firm and concise, list your reasons for it and ensure it all over you maternity notes.

Hope that helps :)

Thank you for answering.
I think nerves are just getting the better of me, I am usually a patient person.

Thank you so much it has helped.
The whole idea of a VBAC so soon scares so it's good to know that I shouldn't get pushed into having one. Thank you again.

ah the hormones, they are still there after your first birth and now you are getting a whole load of pregnancy ones too!

Thats what you need to say, say you are scared and you don't want a repeat of your last labour :) If you have a difficult consultant, ask to be referred to another one.
If you have any other questions, just ask :)
