How did you know you were in labour? I haven't got long left now and I'm getting worried that I won't know the early signs of labour.. What should I be looking out for??

Thank you :hugs:

(I cheated 'cause I was induced)
BUT! Most likely you'll be the opposite where you'll always think you're going into labor with them darn false contractions :winkwink:

I knew i was cause i had my show (mucus plug) and then went to the midwife and was 3cm dialated just knew it :D

Mine started off like mild period cramps..but i'd been having them off n on for a while...but still had a bit of a 'feeling'...tbh even if you don't realise at first..like me..you will soon enough..you just know! Its hard to describe!! xx

OMG sorry for thread crashing but just gotta say, Rome i adore your new avatar <3 I love Quin's shirt there :haha: He's so cute! xx

I knew because I was uncomfortable no matter what I did then all of a sudden I couldn't move physically because of the pain. Warm baths, paracetemol... nothing worked. It's not just in your stomach, labour pains go right round to your back as well. All I can say is, you will definitely know when you're in labour because it's like no other pain you will ever have experienced :)

i was induced but it started off as period cramps and my uterus kept tightening but they slowly got stronger and more painfull x

I was induced but I knew when it was really working and must've been progressing and in actual labour as the pains and tightenings got lots stronger and I couldn't sit still during a contraction and had to breathe properly through them.

I hardly had any BHs. So when I went to bed the night before I was meant to be induced and starting get pains that felt like strong period pains I had a feeling I was in labour. My OH had just gone to sleep as we were both completely knackered and needed sleep before I was induced. I left him to sleep for about 2 hours before waking him up. My dad was still awake and with every cramp I got I did my best to ignore it so that he didn't know and would go to bed. I got my OH up, then he got my dad up. We called the hospital, went in and I was 4cm in about 2/3 hours. From there the pains got MUCH STRONGER! Liam was back to back so I also had the worst back pain you could ever imagine.

Don't worry to much about the early signs of labour, If you go into hospital before your 4cm they usually just send you home anyway.
