Hi all,

i breastfed DD#1, when i switched to formula it turned out she had a dairy allergy. :(
anyway im expecting my second DD, im planning on breastfeeding if i can, i want to have a tub of formula in the house just incase... what formula would you al recommend?

second question, i know you can use healthy start vouchers to buy formula...do chemists like boots and superdrug accept them?

thanks xxx

Not sure on Chemists think Boots do....I just buy my formula in Tesco with healthy start coupons.

I think a lot of people use Aptimal it's supposed to be the closest to breatmilk...i think don't quote me on that

I use Cow and Gate with no problems. SMA made my LO constipated and I thought it was very thin if that makes sense he was sinking 9oz of it at a week old!

hiya yep boots accept them! superdrug is cheapest though ;) i started noah on aptamil because its closest to breastmilk as sweetlullaby said, then moved him to Cow & Gate because its about £1 cheaper (and its made by the same company as aptamil and seems pretty much the same to me.. and him!) like i said Superdrug is the cheapest i've seen it at £7.10 x

we use hipp organic as thats ment to be like breatmilk alothough i think most formulas are the same nearly! x

I am pretty sure that boots take them but failing that Tesco and Asda do for sure!

I have been a little round the block when it comes to formula milk. I started lo on SMA gold as that is what my niece has always been on (and still is and she is 13months) But it didnt agree with my lo and it made constipated. I then changed her onto the Cow&Gate comfort milk for Colic and Constipation and this was brill but then I run out oneday so had to nip out to get some more and nowhere sold it where I went so had to do with the Aptimil confort milk and she loved it and we never looked back.

I have since moved her onto the Aptamil for hungry babies and she loves that too! So I would defo recommend Aptamil!!

Me and SIL being silly one night decided to taste the milks and we thought that Aptamil tasted alot better than the SMA
