Formula Change...Please help me!

My LO is currently on SMA white as she is a very hungry baby but also suffers with constipation to the point where she was crying when trying to pass stools. I spoke to the HV and she advised to make up the feeds less concentrated 4 scoops of powder and 5oz water.

Has anyone elses baby suffered this with SMA??

I have been advised to get Aptamil Easy Digest which I have bought, can I change straight over or do i need to slowly introduce the new formula?

Brooke is on SMA and we havent had any problems.

I havent switched formulas but personally i would do it gradually, introduce a couple of bottles at a time ...

Some of the girls who have changed may have some better advice for you though

Ethan cried every time he had to poop when he was on SMA - he was ok when he was having BM as well, but when he was exclusively FF he had problems. We switched to Aptimil and he's been fine since. He still strains and grunts a lot but he is not in pain with it. We just swopped him straight over and he was ok x

I haven't had that with SMA BUT I do do what your HV said for a couple bottles and use an OZ more water, for weight reasons not constipation!

Im currently switching to follow on milk and im doing it a bottle at a time. So switching one bottle, then in a few days she'll have two until all 4 bottles have switched. I know some just switch straight over though.
