Elle is 2 weeks old today, normally she has 3 ozs every three hours during day and at night she has 4-5 oz depending on how long she sleeps, she has been sleeping between 11/12 until 5am.

However this evening she constantly wants to feed, literally as soon as she has finished a bottle she wants another one. She seems quite windy too, could the discomfort make her want to feed more? Have been winding her after every ounce and have tried infacol too but doesnt seem to work. She has had 6 ozs in about 3 hours and is still hunting for more, dummy isnt satisfying her and she keeps literally screaming out for a bottle.

Could it be a growth spurt, or any other ideas? Shall I just carry on feeding her as assuming she will spit up whatever is too much for her.

Thanks in advance

With a growth spurt its more common (not always) to feed a little bit, muck about with it then feed a bit more after a while this can go on most of the day rather then their normal feeds.
Does she show any signs of colic? my MW told me that feeding seems to ease the pain of wind and colic and if they have it they want to constantly feed, problem is the more they feed the more wind they get so it can be a bit of a vicious circle though

Sounds like a growth spurt to me too. If she's taking 4-5oz at night, try giving her that during the day too. Also she may be confusing tummy ache, either from wind or from being full, for hunger. Sucking eases this pain (Earl still gets this occasionally even now) so try offering a dummy or a finger instead of a bottle. If after 10 mins they're still saying they're hungry then give more food.

Hope this helps....cluster feeding is common in the evenings, and colic can often flare up in the evenings too, so keep an eye and try to keep your LO calm. :baby:

just feed her when she wants feeding.
I tried to drag it out at first and leave a couple of hours between bottles...but since feeding on demand harriets been a totally diff baby its great.
