we have a paed appointment next week for LOs colic, possible reflux, she is 7 weeks old.

my GP thinks the Dr is likely to suggest meds and a special formula...she mentioned maybe cow and gate pepti or another beginning with c that i can't recall, caberline maybe???

I'd like to learn a little more about formula options before my consult - can anyone share their experience and knowledge?

Which taste really bad? Are they easy to make up? Pro and cons? Costs (or are these prescription?).
I read that some are soy based and that giving soy isn't always a good idea

Hi,

My son was prescribed infant gaviscon for his reflux which done the trick. It did make him a little constipated but I just added an extra 10mls of water to his bottle so he's been fine. You said that you recall them mentioning something beginning with a C. Was it possibly Carobel? My friend used Carobel for her daughter and I recall her mixing a small amount with her food. It thickens the milk so just make sure that you ask if you still use the level 2 teats with it. It did work for her daughter though.

Unfortunately I didn't need to change formula so that's all I can give....sorry.

DS son had reflux so when LO was born I knew all of the signs and he does have reflux. Maybe not as bad as DS. I put him straight on aptamil anti reflux (bought it from boots) it's aptamil with Carobel on it. He's been fine since the first day on it.

Xx
