Freezing backup sperm?

I got back yesterday from the dr with a package full of consent forms and other information, as we are considering IVF. One of the things that we have to decide on is having a backup sperm prior to the retrival. This is an additional charge and we are self pay.

DH's sperm is fine, I mean he had no problem with his SA. He is not planning to go anywhere so he should be available (although never know)...I tend to say maybe we should have it, even if it costs extra, he tends towards no, we don't need it, I'll be fine.

What did you ladies (and gentlemen ) do? If you can justify your choice would be grately appreciated.

I would say yes because anything could happen. What if all the pressure gets to him? It happens to all guys. It is worth the sanity knowing that there is a backup if anything goes wrong.
