FRER progression after it beats the control line

For those who tested all and monitored progressions for a long time, I have a question. After your test line got darker than control line (noticeably, but not a lot), would the test continue to darken? Or maybe someone tested a lot, and after a while it just stops darkening?

So up until yesterday my FRERs were getting darker (yesterday my beta was 487, doubling time of 31 hours). Today it is a bit lighter... Well, it is still beating the control line, but not as dark as yesterday. I think my beta today should be ~ 700-900, if still doubling. Am I freaking out for no reason?

So if you tested a lot, have you FRERs ever gotten so dark, that the control line was super faint?

I might attach a picture later. I am just freaking out... I don't know how I can deal with the third miscarriage in 6 months, if I lose this one...

Please don't tell me that I should stop testing. I have to... just simply have to ...

I stopped testing at about 20dpo when the second line appeared instantly and much darker than the control line. Tested again at 7 weeks and it looked the same! Heard that later on it starts to get lighter!

Also I had a couple of days where the test appeared slightly lighter or the same. It freaked me out too, but I'm sure it was just the concentration of the urine. I know it's hard not to freak out, especially if you've had a test not darken, but as long as your betas are great there is nothing to worry about!

Hun, toss out the tests. After the first week or so, my tests always get noticibly lighter, and I have two healthy boys and just heard this baby's HB again yesterday.

My test lines got lighter at about five weeks because of the hook effect

after your HCG levels get so high the hook effect kicks in and the tests will start getting lighter because they are too high for the tests to register

I tested till 21 dpo, I understand the need after a miscarriage, we simply can't help ourselves. On FRER the test line got darker than the control line and did stay that way, however, sometimes it would look lighter than perhaps a test from a couple days earlier. I was freaking out a little too. It does have to do with urine concentration and the fact that each test can vary in the sensitivity it picks up, even within the same box. I stopped after 21 dpo because I knew i wouldn't really be able to measure it with home tests anymore and if I was to have a miscarriage again, I would have too much HCG in my system at this point and it would take awhile to leave. I had my first scan at 6+4, all good and heart a beating! Saw the doc again last week and heard the heart on a doppler at 155 bpm. Having my next scan Tuesday and I couldn't be more thrilled. So everything was fine even though the tests would freak me out and I'm sure it will be fine with you too. Think positive! Pun intended :haha:

Thank you everyone. Every and each of your messages made me feel better. I feel though like it's too early for the hook effect.
Anyway, this is the progression for the last four days (approximate dpo 14-17).

I've attached a progression pic I had for you to compare.

You're welcome. I don't have anymore progression pics, but I have this that I did at 21dpo. I had heard that opks can be positive if you're pregnant, so I was testing that out along with the frer.

Those progressions look fabulous! Now throw the tests away, and start enjoying your pregnancy (at least before the morning sickness kicks in soon! ;-)) I know, easier said than done!
