I really thought i was done and settled on the name Alice, but the name Freya keeps niggling at me:dohh: My husband is adamant that it is just too popular, Would you say this is true?

thoughts ? :coffee:

I think their both beautiful names, but if you wanted a break down. It seems Freya is less common than Alice. Also, I am a bit biased. I have always loved the name Freya.

I prefer Alice. Nothing wrong with Freya but Alice sound so pretty and sweet.

I prefer Alice.
Freya isn't common here at all. I only know one and it's a family member. Xx

We had both of those on our shortlist too until recently- we ended up taking off Alice, but only because we already know a couple girls in our circle of friends called Alice. I think of them as similar in overall popularity though.

Seems fairly mixed then ! ahaa :) Thank you ladies!
I did check the national statistics and they only actually sit a few places apart from each other. I don't mind a "popular" name it's more that i don't want to end up with a fad name. Not sure how to explain that :haha:

We get lots of compliments on Alices name- it's classic and timeless imo. I only know if one other Alice. That said, I don't know aNy Freya's either.

I like Alice more than Freya, I do think that could be a 'fad' name as you said, or more than Alice definitely :) I do like traditional names over all though x

Ah I love both! What about Astrid as a compromise? Similar roots to Freya, but doesn't sound a million miles away from Alice.

I have a Freya. It is not common in Australia. We get many compliments on her name, and I have three friends who are teachers - none of who had ever taught a Freya.

We saw How to be Single last night at the movies, and I left the movie suggesting Alice for our next LO if it's a girl after the main characters name was Alice in the movie.

Love both names, but Freya is my preferred choice :)

I might be a bit biased but I love Freya ;-)
