FS appt

I went to my fertility specialist appt today...they still suspect PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) I am currently on day 51 of my cycle. They are sending Shawn and I to get blood work to check our chromosomes as well (because Ava was an abnormal fetus) even though her chromosomes came out normal they still want to check ours. They are also sending me for blood work to check my insulin, glucose, and a bunch of other stuff. If my insulin is high they will be putting me on metaforin which should help level out my cycles as well and also help decrease chances of another miscarriage. I should know that within 2 wks. The results from our chromosome testing wont come back until October so we have a long wait. Thats pretty much it that happened at the appt today.

I had my first FS appointment today.
They thing I might have PCOS.
On CD 2-3 im having lots of blood test and on CD 10-12 i'm having a scan.
They also put me on Metformin 500mg (one tablet a day)

Is metformin similar to clomid?

Hi

Thought I would add to the thread as I have PCOS. Metformin is a drug used to treat diabetes but can be good for women with PCOS as it regulates blood sugar levels. It is often given before clomid which actually forces ovulation and is only taken for 5 days at the start of a cycle. Hope this helps!

Glad they're working on things for you hun! We should chat more! I feel like I Haven't talked to you in ages! I go for CD3 bloods tomorrow only AF came a day early so hopefully they don't mess things up.
