I got my results for the above bloods today and the showed me the results on her screen. it stated normal levels which I have researched and they seem to be good BUT the hospital also put on the results - LUTEAL PHASE.... this cant be right because i had my bloods on day two of my cycle which isnt the luteal phase right?

I'm really confused now. I have researched and sites say the LP is the time period beginning with the day after ovulation and running through the remainder of your menstrual cycle till your next period.

BUT I was on my period on day two!

Help me am getting panicky now. MY FSH was 6.5 and LH was 1.

Sorry. I'm not sure what levels your hormones should be on CD2. Perhaps they were questioning the length of your luteal phase???

Hopefully someone else will be able to help

:hugs:

Seems odd, they should check you early in your cycle for LH and FSH and then check you 7 days after ovulation for progesterone which confirms if you are ovuating or not. I had tests on CD5 for LH and FSH which came back normal but my CD21 tests which I had done on CD24 as my cycles tend to be long came back low which meant I wasn't ov'ing so I have been prescribed clomid and HCG jab by the fertility unit at my hospital. Hope this helps.

hey there.

Just had my cd3 bloods done, and I get my results by internet which is cool. There are 3 ranges next to the FSH and LH results - for follicular phase, ovulation, and luteal phase. Yes, you're right follicular is up to Ov, then Ov is Ov  and luteal is from ov to af.

Just looked for you, and the ranges are as follows:
LH: Follicular. 2.4 - 12.6 ; Ovulation. 14.0 - 95.6 ; Luteal. 1.0 - 11.4
FSH: Foll. 3.5 - 12.5 ; Ov. 4.7 - 21.5 ; Luteal. 1.7- 7.7

So your FSH would be in the right range but the LH a little low. Don't panic hun - can you call them to double check it's ok? :hugs:

oh gosh i am panicking now! it was clear on my blood envelope that it was cycle day 2 that i was tested on.. so why did the lab put luteal phase!? yes it does seem my LH level is low... what could this indicate if this is the case?
I will call docs in the morning.. in the meantime i will have a sleepless night!

bf has been summonsed to the hospital for he SA and they say I cannt go in the private room with him - why is this? I honestly dont think he will be able to produce.

Don't panic chick! xxx It's not that low at all, and from what I understand it's high levels of LH in the follicular phase which cause problems? (Pls correct me if wrong!) Also, think about it this way - you get tests done to see if anything is wrong... if they do find something wrong, it can be treated. If they don't find anything wrong it just means more tests, so in a twisted way it's better to have bad results, if you see what i mean?! I am having progesterone cd21 tested soon, and since my cd3 tests were ok I am hoping that cd21 shows low progesterone, cos then I know that my doc's diagnosis was right and I know what's gonna happen next. Good luck hun - but pls don't stress and call the hospital tomorrow for peace of mind!
:hugs: xxxx

i called my surgery today and asked to leave a message for my gp to call me back to discuss my blood results again because i was confused and a little worried. she said that the doc would not call me back and i had to re-book to see her. i explaind that i worked monday to friday 9-5 and that i worked nearly 20 miles away and I dont think she understood how many months I had waited to get these tests.
she stated that i had no choice that the docs would only speak to people who had appointments. i thought bull shit. i nearly started crying on the phone. i am already on sickness monitoring because of the time i had off for my complete molar pg.
god i am so frustrated! anyhow the lady said that my results were actually:-
FSH - 1
LH - 6.5
she read the follicular phase range out and the lower level was 2.5
i said 'so my FSH is low?' and she said 'I dont know you will have to see the GP'
ITS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OBVIOUS
has anyone else had FSH taken on cd2/3 and had it so low? does this mean i am potentially not ovulating.

god i am close to hitting the rose wine but I've had to cut all that out too. chocolate is on the call.

:hissy::hissy::hissy::hissy::cry:::blush:

Oh hun - I'm sure she's probably just not allowed to answer any questions of a medical nature since she isn't a doc - you know how everyone these days is afraid of being sued so they daren't ever say anything :hugs:

I really don't know what the levels could mean - mine was 4.32 so I haven't googled it much. But if they told you the level was ok at the hospital I would tend to think it probably is? You could try the online NHS service and see what they say about it? :hugs:

Here's the link. I'm gonna google a bit for ya and see if anything turns up...

OK, hopefully this one will put your mind at rest. It says first that Normal values vary widely among labs and methods used. and gives a range of 1-18 for the follicular phase. I know this is a different range, but the units are the same as far as I can see, so it seems ok.
