I just learned my FSH is 13 (should be under 10) and was told next to impossible to conceive. Anyone else have this experience and had a BFP?

I have no interest in fertility. Just looking for some hope.

I don't think it's next to impossible. FSH varies a lot month to month. At one point mine was over 10 and I conceived on clomid. Plus I see you've had a child recently and that's in your favor. Have you had the AMH test? It doesn't fluctuate like FSH.

Thanks for responding. I put a request in to see my complete report. Hope to have it by the end of the week. Just had a successful HSG test this am. My doctor was just so black and white. I asked to be retested and he said there's no purpose. I'm reading up a lot and I'm not completely discouraged by my number given I've had two children. Thank you for saying that...I feel doctors have to look at a woman's complete history. Both conceptions were easy...and the last just a couple years ago. I'm just a little sad and depressed. Need to let it sink in that #3 may not be in the cards.

your doctor's characterization is not helpful -- I'd find a new doctor! A higher FSH just means your body is working harder, it absolutely doesn't mean that you can't get pregnant. Good luck to you!

I had a FSH of 16.9 and a low AMH. I was 38 years old. After using Chinese accupuncture, we got pregnant naturally with our first son after 3 months. We got pregnant a year later spontaneously with our second son. I will be 42 in July 2015. We now have two baby boys 2 years old and 10 months.

I literally have tears in my eyes after reading your responses. I was floored as it was that he told me I'd need a donor egg. I'm remaining positive. Thank you for your comments and success story!

Btw, I am shopping for a new doctor. I have had a mediocre experience at best with this practice. They completely missed my daughter was breech at 38 weeks and only upon my insistence to have an u/s to prove otherwise did it happen. I ended up with a c section and blood transfusion. It's time to move on!

Thank you and I agree.

I was just in your neck of the woods on a business trip. :)
