Fsh too high. Anyone else?

Hello I'm new to this forum. I have been ttc for 20 months hubby has been tested and he's fine. Had an overy scan and all fine. Had hsg and all fine. However my fsh (follicle stimulating hormone) is too high. It's 9.8 and they like it 8 or below. The dr has said this may indicate premature menopause (I'm only 26!!) or limited ovarian reserve (eggs). So I have had an amh blood test to check for egg supply. Dr said if egg supply is all ok he will start me on clomid. If egg supply isn't good I have to wait till January 2016 for ivf as the time frame before ivf is 3yrs ttc unless u pay for it out of your own pocket. I'm very regular ranging between 28-31 day cycle but mostly a 30 day cycle on average. I know exactly when I'm ovulating as I get a pain in either side of my lower tummy that lasts about a day.

Does anyone know anything about high fsh and if so have any of you fallen with this? Any advice or experiences would be brilliant x

I'm sorry for your diagnosis. On the plus side, while the fsh is high for your age it's not THAT high compared to most women with DOR (diminished ovarian reserve) and you're very young so your egg quality would be great. I'm surprised the doctor isn't open to trying clomid during the wait time for ivf. We had a bunch of problems, I'm a decade older than you, my fsh is higher, my amh is crap, and while waiting for ivf we got pregnant from a clomid iui. Maybe you should get a second opinion, depending on the amh results?

Well the doctor has said for me to wait till end of September for results and if amh is ok he will start me on clomid for 6-9 months. But he's not started me on anything till amh results come back. It was just a shock to hear my fsh levels were high and not a nice feeling to think my ovarian reserve maybe low. Congratulations on your clomid baby it gives me a little bit of hope. X
