Full cycle without temp rise - does that mean no ovulation?

Hello,

I have been TTC For one year and charting my temp for the last 8 months - which so far has been pretty straight forward. However, this cycle things have been a bit unusual. Generally my cycles are quite long - 38 days approx. My Luteal phase is pretty static at 12 days and my temp throughout is as expected in terms of movement and timing.

Since my last period (34 days ago) my temp has not risen in line with my usual pattern to indicate ovulation. I have also gone through 10 clearblue OPK sticks - nine of which indicated high fertility, but no peak. Therefore I bought another pack of 7 Sainsburys own brand OPK (they were the only ones I could find) again I did not get a strong positive result from any of those 7 tests. On day 28 I started to get some brown spotting. On day 32 the spotting seemed to turn into a very light period (just a little too much to class as spotting) which I am still experiencing. If this is my period then the colour and consistency is very unusual. I'm usually very heavy for two days with bright red blood - which is quite opposite to this very light flow of brown blood. When it was just spotting I had initially assumed that my body was trying to expel old residual waste material, hence the colour - but now I'm not sure.

What's unusual to me is:
- No increase in temperature
- Very long window of high fertility OPK results but no 'Peak' result
- Shorter cycle length
- Unusual period colour, consistency & flow

I believe I have not ovulated. Should I assume that I might still ovulate and consider my current bleed as my body trying to clear out waste in preparation? Or is it possible to have a period without having ovulated? Or does this sound like something more sinister....?!

Thanks in advance for any views :)
