fundraiser. can I make a thread?

My brothers are trying to raise money for a specialist centre for disabled children (0-5) whose funding has been cut significantly. They are an independent charity and are relying more and more on fundraising to be able to keep on doing the work they are doing there!

Am I allowed to post a thread with alink to the just ggiving page to ask for donations and raise awareness? If so are there restrictions?

I'm sorry but to prevent the forum from being overrun with solicitations of money no threads asking for donations (even for a good cause) are allowed.

ETA here are the rules:

Whilst linking to personal blogs, profiles, petitions and charity pages is not against forum guidelines, threads made solely for publicizing these pages do contravene our 'self-publicity' and 'advertising' rules, and will be removed (you may however place a link in your signature).

As it says you are allowed to put a link in your siggy.
