Hi all, my little Alfie keeps gagging as if he's choking but never brings any sick or anything up, is this normal?? it scares me even tho i know they have a natural choking reflex it really looks like he's choking

It can be a sign of an allergy or reflux.

How old is he? I think it's normal in general. We had a doctor tell us that if they were making choking noises and getting attention then you were okay as they were working it out okay and you could react. If they really were choking you wouldn't here anything as the passage would be fully blocked.

I'd just keep a close eye on him as it could also be as said above, an allergy or reflux. I could also be tickles in the throat. Maybe ask at the next check up.

My sister's LO started faking it at one point as she found all attention would focus on her. However, I think she was older, just walking.

he's almost 3 weeks old. LLL councillor said her daughter used to do it at his age and it stopped after a few weeks, i'll keep an eye on him and hopefully it will stop on its own
