Im due in 7 weeks. Baby is expected to be over 8lbs at birth and is currently breech. I've been advised he's unlikely to turn as there's limited space.

I'm ok with the prospect of a c section. My first born was a natural water birth so I'm happy I have experienced labour.

My concern is the placement of the spinal block and canula for a drip. I have a shocking fear of needles and was wondering if I would be allowed to take gas and air in order to calm me while these things are happening? ??

I don't know if they would let you do that. It doesn't hurt to ask though. A friend of mine has a fear of needles and went in for a c-section. She had to be completely put under for the surgery because she just couldn't handle it. I hope they let you try. Good luck!

I too wonder about this! I have a fear of needles and had gas and air for my epidural with DD1 (although she was a vaginal birth) but I never felt a thing and am seriously hoping I can have some gas and air while I have the spinal for my csec, fingers crossed
