I have a band and I am 17+1 today.

I am due to have my band deflated in the next few weeks as I am still unfortunately suffering with some morning sickness and they want to limit any damage I am doing to my band.

Hope your coping better than I am with it !!

I too have a band, I got it fitted when I was pregnant (didn't know obv test came back negative). Frankly nobody has even batted an eyelid! If I had had it filled they would keep an eye on me closer to make sure i was getting enough nutrition but it doesn't seem to be a problem at all. x

gosh that the 2nd lady i heard now who had 1 fitted while preg and didn+t know..how has your metal port been? as mine as moved about 2inchs already..

I've had my gastric band for over 5 years, have got about 5.5ml in a 9ml band. I haven't thought about getting a defill yet but I know I'm not going to get it completely emptied. I will probably get about 2ml removed when I get to 2nd Tri. My port is on my breastbone so it should be nice and out of the way.

your lucky with port as mine was positioned at belly buttton so a bit anxious about that..i have 7mils in a 10mil band and nothing removed as eating fine..

It's a 14ml band with 9mls in it at the moment - though I am sure some of that has dissapeared !! The lady that does my fills has recommended that I have it completely emptied as my sickness has been really bad and they dont want me to stretch my stomach with all the retching etc.

I'm abit gutted as it may mean starting again but the nurse that does my fills is lovely and will let me start again when I want after baby is born. I have lost a stone since I found out I was pregnant though I am sure that is more from me being sick so much !

i was like that in the begining and was sick all the time but settled down now so cancelled my defill..who does your fills?

I go to a private hosital "Chelsfield" in Orpington, Kent - I had my op there but not with them if that makes sense. I absolutely love my nurse - She really is good.

I am not managing to hold down alot at the moment and I am sick after nearly every meal even when I haven't over eaten, and sick at various times throughout the day. I have lost 1 stone since I got pregnant !

I'm hoping that after pregnancy my band will become redundant !!

i had my done at the hospital group and all my aftercare is with WLS mine was private too but worse thing i ever had done..

Mine was with THG - I hated them hence why I decided to stay with my nurse who helped with my op and not go for their aftercare package. THG still haven't even phoned me 18 months on to see how I got on !!!

i have had my band 2yrs in sept im 13wks preg i have a 14ml band that had tight restriction at 8'5mls i had 4 taken out when i was 5 weeks as i was so tight i was only getting thru 700cals a day and needed to eat better but iv already gained 7lbs gona have alot of work to do post natally!
