I'm on metformin now they out me on 1 nightly dose of insulin to control my morning fasting readings, they said i have to tell dvla, do i also have to tell car insurance people? will they put up my insurance, i can't pay any more. help, anyone know how this works?

Hi, I'm on insulin (4 times daily) for GD. I called DVLA who took the details and said that they would only need to look at it further if I was still on insulin 12 weeks post birth and sent me a letter to confirm. I also called my car insurance company and they just put it on my file and there was no extra premium to pay. It's best to be up front with this in case of any accident, especially as you don't want to take the risk that the other driver's insurance co could say you were at fault (even if you weren't) as you might have had a hypo etc.

I stressed about it but it was just 2 quick phone calls and all sorted.
