We went to our MFM today for our weekly fluid check on the boys. She now has me very worried. We lost our daughter at 27 weeks and don't really know the reason. She told us today that even small spikes in blood sugar can cause the babies to become hypoxic and suffocate because they have to break down the sugar (since my body doesn't very well) and that uses oxygen which can keep them from having enough. All I ever see being talked about as a complication is big babies, where this seems to be a MUCH bigger concern, yet it's the first I've heard about it. (The endo did tell me that MC and stillbirth were very common with blood sugar issues as well, but not that small spikes could cause them.)
