Gel top coats?

Can you buy them? Ones where i dont need a lamp thingy. I ask because iv only just been told you can buy a matte top coat. Im not very cool and have no idea about these girly things.

The 17 range at boots do gel type polishes, I have a couple and they're quite good x

Boots No7 gel top coat is really good, it's £6 or £7 I think x
