A while ago we decided we were going to get our eldest two a dolls house and a tv for Christmas. Then my MIL said that she wanted to put towards them as she had no idea what to get this year, which is fair enough.

Our sons tv was running out of stock so I asked my DH when she was going to be contributing to which he replied, 'I don't know, she's skint'.

Now I don't mind her coming in on our present but I've budgeted Christmas now and already I'm money down. I don't know why she agreed to joint buy their presents when she hasn't got any money?

I've now paid for our sons present myself because I was worried about not being able to get hold of one (there was only 3 left on ebay and it's discontinued elsewhere).

I'm already feeling stressed over Christmas and it's not even December yet

Argh! My mums the same. Offered to buy some of Caitlyn's presents (which she didn't have to do) but now she has no money but still insists she'll get them even though they're going out of stock. I want to get them myself so I know we'll definately have them.

It must be a mum thing. My mum wanted to buy Ozzie a cot before he was born so I picked one out and she left it so late they went completely out of stock :dohh:
