Hi all,

I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension at 20 weeks. And I've just failed the glucose challenge test. I still have to do the GTT test but I'm just wondering what are the chances of having both?

Since they both only affect <10% of pregnancies am I just really unlucky??

I had both before pregnancy , type 1 diabetes and chronic hypertension! I'd say you were unlucky but it's not hugely uncommon to get both. if it reassures you I've already had a little boy whilst being affected with both issues and he is a happy healthy. 3 yo and my pregnancy could only have gone better if birth hadn't required forceps. Other than that everything was textbook.

I meant to say you also get extra scans so that's a bonus!
