Gift idea for 6 year old boy?

Gift giving time rolls around and it seems like so often you're just finding some kind of "junk" to wrap up for a kid. They just have it all these days! Anyone have a gift idea for a 6 year old boy that might be fun and different? The kids in my life get the disadvantage (haha) of having this teacher in their lives give them BOOKS all the time! Any ideas besides books, that still might be fun, educational, or mind-stretching?!
