girlfriend got positive after 5 days but showing 2-3wks on test

hi there, my girlfriend came off on the 16th of this month and she did a test on the 21st and it was positive but also said 2-3wks. She tested two days before her period but was negative. Is it possible to get a positive after 4-5 days of concieving?

Pregnancies are dated from the first day of your last period, so the test might be using that time scale. It's also possible to continue having periods whilst pregnant, so maybe she conceived last cycle? Sorry, it does sound like a confusing situation! Good luck x

but the last day of her period was the 16th. Only makes it 5-6days and shes got 2-3wks on a test.

them tests that say the weeks arent always right, my friend used one and she knew what she was, but wanted to test it out and it was wrong.

and even if she finished her peroid on the 16th, she might have fell pregnant her cycle before that but still actually bled , as that can be possible,
she can go to the doctors and they will say shes not as far gone because they work it from the last cycle, and untill the 1st scan they can say exactly x

well sounds like shes only just got pregnant then,
dont go by the 2-3weeks, even if you are over 5 weeks they still say 5 weeks because they cant do anymore,] maybe her level of hormone that defects pregnancy is very strong.

are you worried? did you plan for a baby? dont answer if you dont want to, but you sound concerned she is pregnant x

shes had two miscarrages already and i just wanted to know why her hcg levels have gone high after just 5-6days.

sorry no one can answer that love, womans body do crazy things and if shes pregnant, shes just got to keep healthy and stressfree

shes just took another test and it says 3+ that means her hcg is 3000+ in one week?

maybe because shes had a miscarriages, depending how long the last 1 was ago? maybe she is more fertile and thats how her hormone levels are.
i dont think you should keep wraking your brains about it.

if you count back from now, 3 weeks back which is something like the 3rd of april. you dont normally get a positive until 2 weeks after conception, which could have been anyfrom from the 20th march, maybe she just had a peroid even tho she was pregnant last month, that sorta makes sense!

my friend was 30odd weeks before she realised she was pregnant because she was still having peroids x

that could have only been 2 weeks after her last cycle, and sometimes woman have to wait over 2 weeks to get there positive.

your doctor will book you a 12 week scan and its not until then that you will find out how many weeks they think your gf is.

thanx for the info, she has a 28 day cycle and when she was pregnant before she never had periods.

her body can change, just because it happened the last time doesnt mean it will be the same this time.

you and probs best ignoring the tests that are showing how many weeks, Maybe it would be better to go to the docs and they can confirm it and then when she has a scan they can date her prgnancy anyway Congrats!!! hope all goes well. xx
