Well, we've more or less been decided on our girls name from the start, my OH won't have anything other than Ellie, I'm just glad I suggested it to him and like it too.
Thing is - We were naming her Ellie-Rose Sheppard since my mums middle name is Rose, my mums sister who sadly passed away at birth was named Rose, my nan(mums mum) mother was named Rose and her mother too. We also found out my OH's grandads mother was a Rose too so we thought it'd be a nice fitting middle name for her but I've noticed its REALLY common!

Now I'm debating on Ellie-Anna instead, even though the Anna isn't linked in any way to family or anything.

What do you like best?

Ellie-Rose is really pretty! If you say 'Ellie-Anna' out loud it sounds like it should be one word ...? I dunno, doesn't sound right to me! If Rose means alot to you, I don't think popularity matters! :flower: xx

One of my favorite names is Eliana -- more of an "on-a" sound than an "anna" sound though!

If you like the sound of Ellie-Anna -- i would suggest Eliana Rose (nn. Ellie). Personally i'm not a fan of hyphenated names...

So my vote is for Eliana Rose or just Ellie Rose...

I voted for Ellie Rose. It sounds just lovely and it's a nice way to remember your relatives. Don't worry that it's popular, being a middle name it will rarely be used outloud anyway. My dd is Ella Rose so very similar and everyone has said it's a beautiful name.
