OH is glossing all doors and skirting, and it stinks.
Do fumes hurt LO?
I would go out but have nowhere to go and it's raining.
I can't escape the smell even when im upstairs but it needs to be done.
Don't worry, it won't hurt the baby. I studied furniture manufacture + design and the only thing you can't be around while pregnant is the paint sprays...a bit of a smell from the paint won't hurt you at all.
Oh great thank you! He's shunned me away out of the room as he fears it might hurt baby too. I better not tell him it's safe or he will have me on my hands and knees helping
Well I do think it's a good idea to stay away still, just because the smell may make you feel a bit light headed or give you a headache...but it won't hurt you in the long run and it won't reach the baby at all.
My husband has just done the same this week. I just kept all windows and doors open. I also read up ways of getting rid of the smell and lots of people suggest leaving around bowls of vinegar and also bowls with an onion chopped in half and in water. My oh said it won't work and old wives tales but I think they did!
Just make sure that the house is as well ventilated as you can with the doors and windows open etc and make sure you get outside for some fresh air. I glossed myself when I was about 16 weeks and didn't think twice about it until the smell hit me. They say you should use paints with low VOC levels, however I also read that there's only real risk if you work with paint on a daily basis.
