We are thinking of going away for the weeked next weekend.

Only issue is....Emma's bottles.

People who FF MUST go away lol so how can I go away and still make her bottles up? I can use cartons but not sure how to steralise the bottles if we don't have a microwave???

Thanks in advance

We have a steam steriliser, but you can buy plug in travel ones too. I think they only do one bottle at a time but that must be better than buying a steam one just to take away.

Have you looked at those Steri-bottles you can buy in places like Boots?I'll try and find you a link in a sec..I'm not sure if the teat might be a bit fast-flowing though...xxxx

They sell them in Boots too and apparently big supermarkets but I couldnt find a link for them in Boots

We just take our water steriliser with us.

Thanks -steri bottles might be the way to go as we've got a steam steraliser but if there's no microwave we can't use it x

I would think a good option is to use cold water sterilising with milton tablets or the equivalent. We went away to Disneyland Paris for 2 nights last month and we use the big bags that already have tablets in them, you fill them with water, pop in the bottles etc. leave for 30mins hanging somewhere (sturdy as they are v heavy!!!)
We rinsed them off with cooled boiled water so T didn't taste the milton-y taste! He was fine with them. We also used cartons as I felt they would be easier for us on our first time away with him.
We got back from a week in France on Friday and took T's electric steam steriliser with us, as we knew it could plug in etc. and we were also driving!
I'd really recommend the bags tho - the water lasts and stays sterile for 24hrs so you can re-use it! So long as everything is kept in there for 30mins!
Good luck and have a FAB time!

Second the cold water with Milton (you don't need to rinse them after like you do with other tablets:thumbup:) We have just returned from a week in Cornwall and took a coldwater steriliser. I have the disposable bottles but they, for us, are only good for one off feeds. They were really fiddly (we had ones from Boots~) and the teats we useless, Ellis got more on him than in him!!:dohh: Defo wouldn't use them for prolonged periods.

We took lexie to Egypt when she was 5 months old and being ff! We had a tommee tippee travel steriliser and milton tablets. took my own kettle and just had a constant procedure of boiling and cooling water. Anything is do-able and don't be put of by doing something that isn't what you normally do. where there's a wil there's a way!
have a good holiday xx

hi could you please tell me where you can buy these cold water sterilising bags from?

i was looking at this when i was going camping - prepared for no plugs or anything. it's cold water and you use tablets, but a bit more convenient than a bag and also reusable? pretty good price too really, might have to check measurements though to make sure your bottles fit in
