Has anyone had a reflux baby and gone dairy free with success?

I didn't feel the need to go dairy free, but I definitely had to avoid ice cream for a while. :( LO had such a bad tolerance to it!

Yes - I completely cut out dairy after being referred to a dietician when LO was 16 weeks. The difference it made was amazing. I have now reintroduced dairy to my own diet and LO can tolerate it much better, but her reflux flares up if she has anything which contains dairy herself.

Good luck xxx

I am dairy free as I'm vegan - and was the whole pregnancy. He did have a bit of reflux I *think* so can't of been dairy for us but if you can manage it then why not cut it out, can't do any harm :)

I am currently doing this as well, how long would it take to see a difference?

Hiya - Im thinking of trying this for a bit as Jack seems to be sick quite a lot but on and off and I think its linked to something Ive been eating - I thought it was Diet coke but have been off of that for 2 days and he is still quite sick and also gets quite windy.
DS1 had mucus in his poo's and also blood and I think looking back it was dairy.

Can you give examples of a typical days diet? Im thinking of mainly cutting out the daily chocolate, cake and cheese but keeping in butter for now and mayonaise. I take a breastfeeding vitamin containing calcium so hopefully that has enough calcium in too

Just to let you know, in supermarkets (definitely Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco) they sell Vitalite and Pure which are margarines suitable for vegans so no dairy :) Also egg-free mayo (also dairy-free) in the 'free-from' section. Likewise there are yoghurts in the chillers - Alpro Soya - that are also dairy free. There are many alternatives so that you can still have regular things - even some dark choc has no dairy in it.
