How do I prepare and pack my concentrate formula?

Powder would be easier, but I am using the concentrate you add water too......how should I go about prepping?

Thanks! :hugs: :hugs:

Take a thermos of hot water maybe? Honestly I use the ready made stuff, we don't go out all that much, and usually manage to schedule it around her mealtimes so it's not to expensive for us to buy it once in a while because it lasts forever.

You can brig a thermos with hot water to set the bottle in... TBH after going shopping a gazillion times and trying to use hot water while out, I gave up and used the microwave, which people will say not to, but I just shake it very well and its never burned her. If it did then I wouldn't do it.

I used the avent bottles, so they arn't very tall so to speak.

I use the concentrate liquid as well, and prepare a days worth of bottles before hand. A friend of mine gave me a specific bag for toting around breastmilk/formula, it's insulated and came with ice packs. Seriously, any insulated bag would work in its place, ditto for the ice packs.

I pack them in the bag, along with a larger cup that I use to heat the bottles in at home. The ice packs keep them cool and I use hot water from one of the restaraunts in the food court (On the side of the coffee machines, they use it for tea). They're normally pretty good about that.

Not sure if that helps you at all, hope it did. :)

I don't know if have these in Canada, but we have ready-made cartons over here - so you just open the carton, pour it into the bottle & it's ready to use.......then you just warm it up if that's what your LO likes (we're lucky, Olivia will take it at any temperature). They do cost a bit more than making the bottle from powder, but we only use maybe 3 a week, so it really isn't too expensive.

I just pack it in an insulated diaper bag (you can get a free one from Nestle or Similac!) and there's usually a Subway or Tim Hortons within a few feet of where I am at all times  So I just go in Subway and pop it in the microwave (here they have them outside so you can use them yourself) or ask for a cup 1/2 filled with water from Tim's.

If anyone ever complains I'm just going to tell them that I eat enough Subway to be allowed to use their microwave

If I know I won't be gone for a real long time but she'll still need a feed, I warm it extra warm before I go.

I take her bottles out ready made. And either warm it up at the nearest cafe, or give it her as it is.

we ask at cafe's etc for some hot water or to use their microwave to warm elliots bottle up. good excuse for me to have a cuppa tea and sit down anyway!
