After 12 months and £240 spending on CBFM and sticks with no luck I've decided to ditch my CBFM for a while. Just been looking back on my chart for 2008 and I can defo see a pattern with my readings. So gonna just bd as much as possible for the next couple of cycle’s especially around my average high and peak reading cycle days.

Anyone else given up on their monitors or ovulation kits? X

i give up on the temp thing for this cycle as well...i think i need just the opk to see for ovulation ...
i am tired to wake up very morning to temp...so just for this month i haven't temp yet...

I have to say I LOVE CBFM, it takes all the stress out of it for me ... what the issues you are having with yours?

I dont temp as that would be too stressful!

Yea I gave mine up a while ago, before our last IVF, as like you I also seem to have a pattern & follow how I feel, I find it reduces the stress a little!!

Love Jayne x

I gave up on them when they went from being positive every single day to no sniff of a line. They're just not reliable, to me.

I had to stop mine, I think the Clomid messes with my results.
So now it sits collecting dust! lol

This month I have stopped charting or using OPT and am relying on checking my mucas instead. However this month have not noticed a lot and am confused now where I am with my cycle as I can fluctuate 4 days with ovulating. Deffo not ging back to temp charting as it is stressful and makes me obsessive. However I do like to know where I am with it so I know roughly when AF is supposed to arrive.

My charts were very hard to read anyway and not that useful. I have very high progesterone so am probably ovulating and thats all I need to know.

Hi Farie - don't get me wrong - I think the CBFM is fantastic, but after 12 months and seeing a pattern in my high and peak readings I'm wondering if its worth using it anymore. I always seem to ovulate around the same CD’s each month.

DH would like to carrying on using it, but I'd like to try a couple of months just bding as much as possible without using anything as a guide when to bd more - but knowing me I'll probably start using it again just for peace of mind xx

i was just thinking that since my cycle is only 26 days ...5 of those days are AF then if i count the last week of my cycle before Af due that is already 12 days i can't conceive so i only have 10 days about where i could be possibly fertile from those 10 days i can BD every other day ...so i cover my "fertility window ".

the monitor is probably really better for women with long cycle no?

Ahhh I see what you mean :hugs:
It does get a little predictable doesn't it! Mine went a bit haywire this month due to the introduction of Clomid!
I think if we hadn't started that I'd have prob stopped reasonably soon .. gets expensive every month! I just find being able to tell DF "I got a PEAK today" helps get him geared up for the BDing! I then need to nag less which is always a good thing!

I stopped using my monitor as I found it would stop testing me before I o'd some months cause my cycle is irregular. I had a persona monitor but I don't think there is a big difference

ahh I'm too much of a nymphomanic to bother with CBFM or OV strips lol, done a few cycles where I used OPKs but then realised that it didn't matter cause we'd still be BDing no matter what
