:flower: Hello

just wondered if anyone knew of good bottles / teats in the UK? we currently have the Avent bottles with an anti colic ring and newborn teats. I mentioned to the HV that he often nods off during feeds and she said often the avent teats are really hard for NB to suck on so they get tired but then she didnt tell me any others to try?!

sorry to sound thick as well but can i just buy different make teats or would they fit differently to the bottle?

Im new to all this and was planning on BF so never really looking into bottles etc much!

xxx

I use avent too- i found going up a nipple size helped heaps- maybe try that before investing in a whole new bottle/teat combo.

otherwise- i have heard good things about Nuk and Dr browns- especially if you have a windy baby.

Dr Browns Beth!

Sophia got terrible wind on Avent and Tommee Tippee, got much better on the Dr browns.

You can move up teat sizes too if he starts to be slow and falling asleep whilst feeding

x

thanks Mrs! gosh- theres more wind being produced here today than you could imagine! may have to get on amazon and get some dr browns to try xxx

hi when my baby was in hospital i brought my own avent bottles and teats and she really did struggle like your baby so i used the hospital bottles and teats which were they say "softer" but i disagreed.. anyway perserveer with them as baby gets stronger at sucking baby will be ok on these mine took just 2 weeks and she was 3 weeks early and very tiny... after 2 weeks tho she seemed to be taking forever to drink it and as you say fell asleep and lost interest that is when i started using size 2 avent teats

I started off on the avent bottles but a few months into ff LO was refusing to feed so I swapped to the MAM Anti Colic ones and they have been an absolute godsend!!

I'm using tommee tippee closer to nature bottles :) at the moment they're working a treat but I've only been FF for 3 days.

Well we use Avent bottles as they are compatible with any teats and since avent teats are too slow flowing for us, we use a UK teat imported here known as MAM its silicone, fast flowing and closest to the nipple apparently and its been the difference between summer eating 100ml each feed instead of struggling to get through 50ml but we stick with Avent bottles as the Mam teats and the hospital teats all fit but with our tommee tippee bottles, no teats would fit except their own brand so yeah avent is good in that respect and we still use the anti colic ring so summer is not getting colic pain

so yeah you guys would get them cheaper than what we have to pay here in N.Z

i didnt realise that you could interchange teats witht he avent bottles! we moved up to a number 2 teat yday but it was too fast and he just couldnt keep up. may try some mam teats and one dr browns bottle and do a little trial run on a few things first!

We use tommee tippee closer to nature :) i used them with dds too. never liked avent they always leaked a lot.

Like most of the other ladies said. Tommee tippee anti colic bottles are great. And the treats are shaped like a nipple. So the are the best bottles in my opinion

Another vote for Dr Browns from me. I have a very windy lo and tommee tippee CTN weren't great. He's been miles better since switching x
