Good to get second opinion

Over the past 2 years I've been off birth control and we've been trying to conceive. Gyno checked tubes no blockage then requested DH do SA which we did. Urologist pretty much said he doesn't see any major issues with DH but keep trying for another year then come back.

After felling frustrated, depressed and confused I made an appointment with another gyno who I saw today. After 2 years of tears and countless visits to my previous gyno, I learned that I may have endomistriosis and polyps.

I did blood work today and go back for follow up on 2 weeks but I'm sharing this because what I learned in 1 hour my previous gyno never detected in 2 years!!

If you're not satisfied or don't feel like you're going anywhere have a second opinion it won't hurt and you may learn/ discover something you never even knew about.

I always insist on a second opinion. Even with my RE. You never know, they could have missed something vital.

Very good advice! On top of getting second opinions, I often do my own research, too. At the end of the day, the dr is a human being, prone to boredom, depression, forgetfulness, laziness, carelessness, etc. Of course, some are better than others, but there are too many out there who don't know how to listen and/or who don't really get it.

This is exactly right! Be your own advocate. If it wasn't for me switching doctors until I was happy, I would probably not be pregnant. Good luck with everything, I wish you the best!

Thank you everyone. Knowing is half the battle at least we know what may be the problem and what needs to be done.

I am a bit nervous about what's to come but hopefully this takes me 1 step closer to having my very own bundle of joy!
