Hi ladies :flower:

We are combi feeding at the mo, my lo has two bottles a day we are using Cow and Gate first milk.

We use boiled tap water, then rapid cool. I try to swill the milk rather than shake it, and it always looks well mixed.

But at the end of her feed, the bottle is lined with a grainy residue, what am I doing wrong??

I always shake for ten seconds, but have seen a little grainy bits a few times (usually a rush job) -- perhaps shake with the plastic disc that they have for transport and then put on the teat? (The NUK bottles comes with a plastic disc for travel, which I didn't realise what it was until last week)........

best wishes

It does say on the label to shake well for 10 seconds. I also premake and give the bottle a little shake when I take it out of the fridge before warming. xxx

yeah, I shook it today and it was better, just tons of little bubbles.

LO gets a lot of tummy pain and I think it's wind so wanted to try and reduce it slightly

I find that if I premake and store in the fridge, by the time I take a bottle out of the fridge, the milk is smooth with no bubbles. xxx

Thats a good idea x how far in advance do you make it?

DD2 only has 4 bottles now, so I make her morning bottle the night before and the ones for the rest of the day in the morning. They need to be stored in the fridge for at least an hour before using so they can cool down fully before reheating. You can store them for up to 24 hours but I always use them within 12 hours. xx
