Our little girl has been suffering with trapped wind and wouldn't wind easily since around 2 weeks old.

We tried Infacol and it seemed to settle her symptoms but didn't get rid of them completely.

So once she turned 1 month old we decided to try gripe water instead. After the first dose she vomited back up all her milk. The same thing happened after her next few feeds too. She has only vomited a couple of times previously so we believe it is definitely the gripe water.

We have stopped using it now but she is still being sick loads today. Has this happened to anyone else? Did you continue to use it or not?

TIA
xx

Exactly what happened with my daughter. Every time she had it she vomited. I did baby massage to help and also ended up using dentinox. It stinks and must taste awful but really works xxx

We switched bottles to Tommee Tippee next to nature and got our girl on probiotics (doctor recommended BioGaia. https://www.biogaia.com/product/biogaia-protectis-drops-33)
The probiotics really helped with her digestion and the bottles let less air in when she sucks. I also cut out coffee, cabbage, broccoli and onions as I was told it can make breast milk more difficult to digest. So far so good! Gripe water is mostly alcohol and I don't like the idea of feeding her that :nope:

Ours covered the entire living room in projectile vomit after 1 dose of gripe water...never again! We used colief instead and it was great! (get it on prescription, otherwise it's £11 for a tiny bottle that lasts less than a week!). She stopped needing it at around 11-12 weeks.

Glad I read this - I have an unopened bottle of gripe water in my house, and after reading about the poor babs that have thrown up after it, it shall remain unopened!

I have colief on prescription and that seems very helpful

Mine did the same after the first time we used it. We used it a few weeks later with no problems.

First DD I tried it once and she projectile vomited so didn't use it again. Haven't even bothered buying it for this one!

Gripe water worked somewhat for my daughter but my son threw up his milk too whenever we tried it.
