gripe water

It usually helps him burp if I suspect he has a trapped wind problem yes x

I think it helps. But we also on gaviscon. So not sure which one is working better

Mine hates it, gets himself into a right state when i try and give it to him. The last 2 times has resulted in him being sick, so im not using it again.

I used it a few times when LO couldn't get his wind up, not sure if it's coincidence or not but he was always unsettled for a while afterwards so I gave up on it

great for us! We feed him upright and all we have to do is bend him forwards after a feed to let out a monster burp lol

thats what i do...too much hassle with a syringe or spoon

I used gripe water for the first time this week and LO doesnt seem to agree with it.. he has been pumping all night and crying when he pumps :( so Ive gone back to Infacol

my LO is the same not sure the gripe water is working :( she has been very windy since she was born but nothing seems to work, she screams and goes rigid then passes wind sometimes she will be doing it for nearly an hour and she strains loads as well to pass wind, i might get some infacol later but the doctor says that none of the medicines have actually been proven to help and saays they are a waste of money

Did the same to Freya. Gave her the runs as well. Infacol was great but stopped working after a while - we're now on Dentinox which is ok, although I gather its not working for OP. x

when i went to doctors with LO at beggining of week i told them she was having denthinox and he said oh were did u get that from as your not supposed to use it any more as it acts as a anisetic??? and numbs the tummy. i brought some infacol today can i add it to LO milk?

we just give LO Infacol through the dropper before his feed x

Infacol always works well for my LO. A drop before a feed and after a couple of minutes winding him, he comes up with a big burp- and always looks very pleased with himself too!

Never been told that - my HV recommended it as Pud's wind was so bad it was interfering with her feeds. Its widely available - Boots and Tesco's sell it by the bucketload, and I can't see it being available if it was that bad!It does wonders for Freya anyway. I'm not sure about putting infacol into the milk - we just used to dropper it straight into her mouth - she didn't like the taste thou! x
