gross ? about c section "overhang"

sorry for gross TMI....

I am almost 5 weeks pp. I was very small pre-pregnancy but had a huge bump. ended up with emcs. i have a flap of skin over my incision and it has a smell.....the scar itself seems ok and healed. i think it's just from the skin rubbing together....

any advice?

I had this with both of mine! Try to shower, not bath and after shower dry the scar with a hair dyer on low heat for 5 mins. Then get some gauze (any chemist will have this) and lay between the skin. Should go in a few days. Try not to wash it to often, which is hard cos of the smell, but it needs to dry out to heal x

I have this as well it's gross can't wait to excersise and get rid of it. I have a infection at the mo, so suggest like the others and just try and keep it clean the smell is probably just the skin on skin.

I've lost lots of weight since having my baby just about a year ago and still have the overhang. It's nasty. I had lots of ooze after my surgery and lots of stinky junk as DS was born during a horrid heat wave so it was so super sweaty in there. I was told to clean it with saline water and keep it dry. That seemed to help.

well my tummy is saggy as it would be from having any birth but no overhang although i fo have saggy skin and need to lift it to get to my incision so i suggest cleaning it every time you shower with a cloth and patting it dry or using a dry face cloth and possibly ask the doc to prescribe a gentle cream to apply to your skin and the part that smells, as my incision is now looking pink because i was naughty and scratched it when ti was itching so i have some good cream to put on after each shower
