Hello! I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing a lot of preterm labor symptoms. At my dr apt a little over a month ago she had gone ahead and done a GBS test and I tested positive for Group B Strep. Now, this is my 4th pregnancy and I have tested positive in all 4, so I didn't think too much about it. I took my antibiotics and went along my merry pregnant way. Now, my dr went ahead and redid the GBS test at my apt 2 weeks ago (as well as taking a bunch of other tests to rule out preterm labor) and lo and behold I tested positive for GBS a second time! My dr didn't seem too concerned about this as I was already slated to receive antibiotics while in labor, but I am starting to wonder if the GBS might be causing me to have these preterm labor symptoms. Has anyone else had any experience with this? CAN GBS cause preterm labor? Thank you for your help.
