My LO takes 4 oz every 4 hrs, & he sleeps ay night for 7 hrs. Ocassionally he take 5 oz feed. I dont stick to a schedule and I feed on demand.

However; two hrs back I gave my LO his bath & 5 oz bottle. I noticed that he was still hungry but put him to bed anyways. He kept struggling & refused to sleep, & from the way he was sucking hard on his dummy, I knew he was still hungry. I just gave him 2 oz.

He doesn't usually cry when he's hungry & I knw from the signals he gives, when he's hungry & he really was.

Is it a growth spurt? or am I not feeding him enough ?

It could be a growth spurt, they seem to happen so often! When Joe starts draining bottles, I up them by 1oz at a time. My HV told me that you can't overfeed, they will either stop drinking or spit up anything they don't need so maybe add an extra oz from now on and see how that goes.
Hope that helps x

What Vicks said!!

Also, some babies (including mine) 'cluster feed' when they know it's bedtime and time for a long sleep. I offer Earl 7oz at his last feed and he eats the lot - he will only take 6oz during the day at the moment (although he's draining those now :dohh:). Maybe try the extra ounce like vicks said for tomorrow and see when he takes extra....some people can tailor their feeds as they know when and how hungry their LOs will be.

Will do so. Anyways, he takes less than the recomended quantity for his age & increasing 1 oz won't be a problem :D thnks ladies
