God you'll never guess what?!

Bloody CHEEK OF IT!

I've only been paying someone else's gas and electricity bill for the past 2 weeks. I had a letter from income support saying they were deducting £15 a week for "British Gas"...it was dated from 2 weeks ago but I only got it today because it was forwarded from my old house.

I rang Income Support and the man said that it appears I am mistakenly paying someone else's bill and in his own words - "how embarrassing".

As if things aren't hard enough being a single mother on benefits for bloody hell's sakes! :growlmad:

God that is bad, but i am still waiting for them to sort out my housing benefits, its only been nearly 4 months now!!!!!!!

Hope they give you your money back asap!!!! xxx

Oh god, don't go there with housing benefits!

Me and Aiden have just moved into our very own flat, after months of HELL living in what I like to call "the crack den" with some of the nastiest people I have ever met in my life. So I'm thinking... "thank GOD, some privacy, safety and security....just what we need!" ...and then the woman from the housing association turns around and says "housing benefit is known to take a long time and you may end up getting a notice of eviction if it takes too long...if that's the case then go down to the council and beg, cry if you need to...."

For christ's sakes, isn't it for people who can't pay their rent, so that they have a roof over their heads?? Not to trick people into thinking they have some security only for them to be threatened with homelessness again?!?!

RANT RANT RANT.

I bet a lot of people are reading this thinking "god you've got a free house and you're claiming free money that I pay for with my taxes blablabla etc etc...stop moaning"...

Go shove your head up your arse is what I say.

No i no what you mean, i was told that aswell, i've taken hollies BC in 4 times now and still they keep sending me letters saying i need to take her BC for them to sort out my benefits yet, they did my council tax asap!!!

Im going to my council again tomorrow, havent been able to pay my rent this month, cos everything seems to have come all at once!!!

But ppl can read this as much as they want, but we need this help, plus i've paid taxes since i was 16 years old thats nearly 10 yrs xxx

I had some snobby woman make some comment on a thread I wrote in the work and finance section which has made me think that I'll get jumped on for any questions or comments I make about benefits!

As I said to her, rather than persecuting the single mothers (who should get MEDALS....it's one of the hardest jobs in the world and you have to sacrifice your whole life to do it)...you should pick on the fathers who put us in these situations!!

i actually think that is awful, but how the hell does it work that you pay gas and elec to the social as opposed to the gas and elec companies in the first place?
sorry just seems totally weird to me that they would take money from anyone for utility bills?
am assuming you will get your money back hun, albeit - eventually :(

You have to specifically request it yourself. To make your life easier basically, so that your bills are paid before you even get your hands on the money. That's what makes it so awful...they just did it and I never requested it! Not that it's my bill anyway! Even the bloke on the phone said that I personally have to request it! I just don't see how they could have made such a huge mistake.

Its the councils for you, they dont know what there left and right hands are doing, its stpid cos your case about each benefits, gets passed from one person to the next and what if that person goes on holiday or sick, we all suffer, it should be started and ended with the same person and they should have time limits as well xxx

:hugs: i would be soooo mad!! I really hope you get your money back soon!

I've seen the consequences of what happens when the council messes up....its ridiculous!

xx

Are they paying back the £30 they deducted then? I know how hard it is, money comes in and goes straight back out again, if £15 came out without me knowing I'd be in the crap!

These people are generally useless at sorting out benefits :dohh:

And I seen what that woman put on that thread in work and finance, what a dope! No idea of how hard it really is.

Haha I'm not usually so bitchy, I just won't have anyone undermine me or judge me when they really have NO IDEA how hard us single mummies have it- there's no way they'd be able to cope!

And yeah he said they'll get it refunded for me...be that'll take another 2 months! :growlmad:

£15 is a lot to take out ur benefit too. usually they take it at £3 per week. wot a cheek they have

never had a problem with housing benefit, its always been set up really quick.

Ah benefits office do like to mess people around dont they :growlmad: I hope they pay you back the £30 quicker than 2 months hun! Thats a lot of money when you dont have much to live on. I must admit your posts do cheer me up, ( you know what I mean ) you crack me up & I love it xx
