Hi Ladies
My husband and I have been ttc for well over a year (all our married life so far!) tried almost everything. Had all blood tests and hubby had SA and we've now been referred to a GYN on NHS - took bloody ages and appointment is still well over a month away. Is anybody else in a similar situation? I'd really love some support/positive stories please. I also don't know what to expect but hope that with some professional help we will finally conceive. Anyone hear of someone getting pregnant first month after GYN visit please contact me as I am slowly losing my strength.
Thank you and good luck to you all x x x

I didn't want to read and run. I don't know of anyone (At least, I do not believe I do) who got pregnant the first month after a GYN visit. However, my parents had unexplained infertility and still managed to get pregnant within a few months after seeing a fertility specialist. So, even if there is something wrong and the doctors cannot figure out what it is, you will still get your BFP when the time is right.

I too didn't want to read and run.

Sorry to hear of your struggles. I know someone who got preg after 4months, but not after one.

But with all things there is good and bad... I've been seeing my gynae since I was 13, since getting with my hubby we've tried lots of different things, including (at the severe end) a 6month course of triptorelin to put me into chemical menopause - shut everything down and hope when it starts back up it works - makes me sound like a dodgy pc actually.. periods returned after 8months been trying for 3 and nothing yet. sometimes I don't even ovulate...

I'd say go in with an open mind and try to be realistic, can take a few months for things to settle after any new treatments, and it's important to keep that in mind so you don't beat yourself up and have to deal with a low mood over and above everything else us women put ourselves through! Keep us posted on how your getting on :) I'll be keeping everything crossed for you! x

Some people get pregnant right away, some don't. Some just never do.

The appointment with the gyn won't do too much. Actually, is it just a gyn, or a reproductive endocrinologist? If it's the former, than the best case scenario is an ultrasound exam and some overall assessment of your visible reproductive system. Then you'll get referred to see a specialist.

Once you see one of those, they'll do a series of blood work, sperm analysis, etc. But you seem to have gotten past those. So at your next appointment, the doctor will likely explain the test results to you and come up with different plans. Once you choose what you want to go with, things will start happening.

And again, nobody guarantees anything. And, well, there might not be anything wrong with you either, at least nothing they could pinpoint.

I'd definitely suggest AMH bloodwork, if you've not already done it.

Good luck!

hello.

Thank you all for your kind words and advice, they are very much appreciated. I will keep you posted, but until my GYN appointment next month I am trying to forget about TTC as i feel that I am slowly starting to lose who am i am because of all the pressure to have a baby. Bring on the chlomid or something similar!
Thank you x x x
