iv had natural pregnancies in the past. Im on my third and dreampt I had to have a section because I got too fat. I asked the man if I could have gas and air while they administered the epidural. But they wouldnt It was so horrible because he was born and I couldnt hold him and do things with him because I was too weak, and my house got stinking because I wasnt able to do any work around the house.
Now Im worried what will happen if I really did have a section, Iv always been petrified of being cut open and awake! Also I faint every time I have blood taken, what if I fainted during surgery is that dangerous. Silly dream really X

Ah don't worry! There's no point worrying over something that might not even happen. :flower:

Honestly, I felt the same about if I had to have a section. I told my oh that I'd have a breakdown if I had to have a section and in the end I was begging for one (mine was an emcs after a three day non progressive labour)!! The staff are sooooo good at calming you down and I didn't even realise that they'd started the op until they began talking - my biggest fear was being able to feel the cuts etc and when they were testing my epidural I could feel some bits (before they started they pinch you etc) but it was just psychological.

I had a very pleasant experience and could hold my baby as soon as I got up to recovery within the hour. I was sad that I didn't get skin to skin but I loved that my oh could hold her first and his face was a picture.

Try not to panic, it's not a given that you're having a section and its not as bad as we think.

Imagine if sections were the Norm and someone had to have a vaginal, we'd totally freak out about that then! :flower:
