I had it my first midwifes appointment yesterday, pretty long winded filing in forms and what have ya.

Everything seems well so far. :)

I get to have 2 scans :happydance: (thought id only have one in my area)

my first should be in the next couple of weeks and i cant wait :happydance::happydance::happydance::happydance:

This is my second baby so its looking Obvious to me im pregnant and wearing baggie tops at the mo, mum said i wont be able to hide it much longer, only people that know is my parents and my OH parents.

My son doesnt know yet he will be the next but i cant tell him till im ready to tell everyone else cos im sure he will tell lol.

When do you think i should tell everyone, was hoping really to tell when ive had my first scan just so i no everything is ok cos like many others out there, they is always a doubt in the back of your mind that something could be wrong.

Im so scared to tell work, why do we have these fears, ive worked at the same place for 5 years but so scared to tell them think its cos ive just been trainned up on a new job.

Thats my bit of ear chewing for friday morning. :headspin:

Congratulations, i would wait if you can until after your first scan before telling others. Don't worry about work they will just have to deal with it!

I am glad your appoinment went well and you get to have 2 scans!!!! :happydance:

As for telling people, there is no harm til waiting til after your scan, it is a personal thing! x

It is a personal choice, whenever you feel ready.

I was going to wait until after my first scan but i couldn't sleep for worrying about things, so we told all our families and friends when i was 8 weeks and they were really chuffed and it was weight off my mind and it also made things seem more real as they were getting excited and buying things for baby.

I was dreading telling work as i haven't even worked here a year yet and held out until i was 12 weeks to tell them, but they were fine about it, not overjoyed, but congratulated me etc, and i feel so much better about it now! And can enjoy being pregnant!

Hi Fifi

What part of Yorkshire are you in? I'm in North Yorkshire! Got my first appointment with the Midwife on the 23rd of this month! Did you take your partner to the appointment?
Also, did they take blood and urine samples?? Not looking forward to that part!!

Don't worry about telling your work, there is nothing they can do to you apart from make your life easier!! At least you have been there for 5 years so you are entitled to the full maternity rights! I've been at my place of work for 4 years so I'm quite relieved that I'm entitled to everything as well! I'm going to tell my work after I come back from holiday in Feb, I will be 13 weeks by then so out of the 'danger zone'
Most of my direct family know and close friends, my parents are allowed to tell my Aunties and Uncles once I am over 12 weeks, it's killing them not being able to say anything!!
Anyway good luck!!
