Hair on ultrasound... Baby born with hair? *Update*

So, I had another growth scan today at 34 weeks. I was bummed because the baby is *still* not head down... and she's jumped up from the 41% range to the 75% range in weight (thanks to a bigger belly measurment). The tech tried to get a picture of her face, but couldn't. Just general little let-downs. But then the tech showed us that you could see HAIR on her head. She said she had quite a lot, too. In the (2D) ultrasound picture you could see it coming away from her head almost an inch, maybe.

I got super excited because my last baby was a baldy. She had a tiny bit of fuzz, and that was about it. I was expecting another bare baby this time, but the scan today gave me hope. So now I know she has hair at this very moment... but I'm worried that it will all be gone by the time she's born. LOL

If you saw baby's hair during an ultrasound, was baby later born with hair? A lot of hair on ultrasound and a lot of hair at birth? Or hair on ultrasound but bald by birth? Please share.

Hair on ultrasound, lots of hair at birth even sideburns lol he was Hairy. Forgot to ask during any ultrasounds of this one

DD had about an inch of hair on ultrasound at 30 weeks and she was born with a head full of thick hair.

DS had hair during his growth scan ultrasound and was born with a full head of hair as well! It was curly, too! I think you'll have a baby with lots of hair!

Thank you for sharing! Curly, even? How cute! I'm so excited. I can't wait to see if she keeps it. I would just love to he able to clip a tiny bow in her hair... rather than stick a ribbon on with KY Jelly, like I had to do with my last daughter. LOL. (For the record, that was something I learned from the nurse-- I would not have tried that on my own. Hehe.)

Lol! That's funny. DS did lose most of it and what was left was really thinned out from his head growing faster than the hair can come in. He did have a full head of hair by the time he was 6 months and at year it was long! Maybe you'll get lucky and she'll be one to keep it!

Dd#1 supposedly had a ton of hair seen on the ultrasounds that the tech even said to go out and buy a bunch of bows... she was born totally bald lol! Dd#2 nothing was ever mentioned and she was born with a normal amount of hair, not too much but not totally bald like her big sister lol

Dd had hair on her ultrasound at 36 weeks and was born looking like she was wearing a wig it was so cute though. I think this little man is a baldy though. No hair yet that can be seen.

Awww fingers crossed for hair I had my 34 weeks growth scan this week and she has hair, I'm seriously hoping she keeps it, my 1st son came out looking like elvis so I was shocked when my 2nd boy and 1st girl came out bald ha ha hoping this time she'll be like my 1st 😊 good luck.

Both my boys were born bald. This time round I had a private scN at 29 weeks and was shown his hair on the scan....hoping its still there when he's born as it would be nice to have a baby that isn't bald this time haha

We had an ultrasound and they said hair, ds was born 8 days ago and he has a very thin layer and some side burns, pretty bald on top LOL

I am loving this post. We were shown on a scan at 35 weeks that she had quite a lot of hair, that kind of flicks up from the neck, So I was curious as well as to whether she would keep the hair or not?! Not long to wait and find out

DD1 no mention about hair on ultrasound but born with loads of dark hair and never lost any of it like midwife said. DD2 told could see hair on ultrasound but born with no hair. Nothing mentioned this time but if the old wives tale of heartburn is right like with DD1 then he'll have lots of hair like his big sister

My son was bald except for a little triangle of hair on the back of his head but never had any mention of hair on scans.

I'd love a baby with loads of hair this time but still no mention of hair, damn I've had KILLER heartburn this time so fingers crossed the wives tail has some truth to it!!

I hope she still does have hair when she's born you must include a hair update in the birth announcement!

Our baby arrived on November 20th, just 8 days before her due date. She definitely ended up with hair. Not as much as some babies I've seen, but more than I was expecting. We are just smitten with her.
