I have never actually made a bottle the "proper" way I've always used ready mixed or used the perfect prep but next week I will be away.

Is it ok to make a bottle this way? Someone suggested it to me ..

1/2 boiled water
Add formula
Add 1/2 cooled boiled water

And give it immediately after checking temp?

This would be perfect because I'm not taking a bottle warmer and my baby doesn't like milk cold. I can also not make the milk with cold water because it's comfort milk and will not mix with cold water.

Is this ok? Or is there another way?

This is how I used to do it. And it worked just fine but was still too fiddly for me. Now I just have a flask of boiled water which is just the right drinking temperature and just use that. I havent had any issues so far and it mixes the comfort milk fine too.

Don't see why not. It's what the perfect prep does essentially.

Thanks! This is what I'll do then.

That's what I was thinking too mummummum

I think it's okay if it's the right temperature (so roughly 70C) when you add the formula, so I'm assuming you add the formula powder to the boiled hot water and then top up with cold? Or mix them so it's still hot enough to sterilise the formula (though then you'd probably still have to cool it down after). As long as the powder is getting sterilised and you know it's the right temp, I can't see any issues.

Thanks yes will mix with the boiled water and top up with cooled boiled.

Premixed formula and the perfect prep has made me lazy! :)

I think you'd have to measure the hot/cooled water out to the right amounts rather than adding the cold water to the current bottle, e.g. measuring out the right amount into another bottle so that you get the right amount of ozs.

I take two bottles out for my first feed out and about. One with 60ml boiled water for example and one bottle with 120ml of cool boiled water.

I mix the formula in the hot then add the cold and it just needs a little time to cool a bit more.

I do 60mle cold cold boiled water and 90mls boiled and when my little guy spent a night in hospital I noticed that was how the staff would mix his fedds. If its to hot then it takes tye goodness out of the formula

Thats how I do it  I use a bottle with measures on for the cooled water so I can see how many oz go in.
