Has anyone breastfed while on the drug Lyrica (AKA Pregabalin)?

I've just been prescribed the drug Lyrica (also known as Pregabalin) but there's absolutely no data on whether it's safe to breastfeed on it or not. I'd be so grateful if anyone out there can confirm whether they've breastfed on it and whether everything was okay.

Many thanks in advance,

I've no idea about that particular drug, but I'm on a drug called Olanzapine. Again there is no data on breastfeeding, no studies done, nothing. So I decided 'better be safe than sorry' and decided to formula feed.

I don't think so, just because I looked it up in my husbands book but I would go back to the doctor and see if there is any other medication you can take instead?

Hi, the reason there's no data on Pregabalin is because its a pretty new drug. I can only recall it being about for maybe 2/3 years, thats at the pharmacy i work at anyway.

With a new drug its side effects in pregnancy or on breastfeeding infants are unknown because obviously no trials can be run on babys or pregnant women.

I'd speak with your GP/pharmacist before taking it just to be safe, they may have more information.

Hope this helps x
